OUTREACH
“Emil Brunner, the Swiss theologian, wrote that “The Church exists by mission as fire exists by burning”. No mission – no Church. Jesus called the Church to share in his mission of restoring the beauty and harmony of a world distorted by sin. ”As the Father sent me, so I am sending you”, he said. Like him, we are sent: to be human and learn; to love and care; to think and teach; to suffer and die; to surprise and confound. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can share with Jesus in the saving work of his kingdom” (Diocese of Carlisle, Survival to Revival resources). At the Priory we hope that all our activities are ultimately geared towards mission and outreach, however, there are a few that are particular focused upon mission.
