Fellowship
Whereas socializing may seem like a strange heading to put on a church website, this area is an important part of any thriving church. It could also have been placed under ‘Worship’, but therein lies the challenge. It is easy for us to separate our social activities from our faith. Socializing under the auspice of ‘church’ doesn’t automatically make it a form of worship to God. In our social events we give people an opportunity to grow in Christian charity and grace. Obviously every church is a broad collection of people that we may or may not have much in common with. It is perhaps easy for some people to only socialize with others that they have things in common with, but the Church does not work that way. Our bond in Jesus means that we are all brothers and sisters, regardless of whether or not we naturally socialize well with one another. So social events are an important opportunity to actually practice what it is we are learning as we grow in Christian maturity. There are many opportunities for socializing. Some of these groups actually serve a practical function and ministry in their own rite. Please feel free to explore some of the links bellow.
