World mission
The Priory is deliberate about supporting the work of the Church at home and overseas. At the moment we are supporting the following organizations: Church Pastoral Aid Society, Northern Inter School Christian Union, Salvation Army, Cornerstone Christian Bookshop, Carlisle and Blackburn Diocese Training Institute, St. George’s Gateshead, Intercontinental Church Society, British and Foreign Bible Society, Christian Aid, Church Missionary Society, South American Missionary Society, St. Barnabas Fund, Release International, The United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, Leprosy Mission, SIM, Operation Mobilisation, Christian Blind Mission and Interserve.
On top of what we contribute to these varied organizations we are very active in supporting the ministry and mission in our local deanery. Almost half of what we contribute to the Diocese goes directly to support 50% of the cost of supporting a priest in another parish in the deanery.
