WELCOME
Welcome to the Priory Church of St Mary & St Bega, St. Bees. Our parish is located on the coast of the Irish Sea in beautiful west Cumbria. The Priory is the parish church for the villages of St. Bees, Nethertown and Sandwith. Our mission statement is ‘To know Christ and to make Him known’. As a church we want seek to be faithful to the historic Christian faith passed onto us and retain the richness of historical worship and devotion. We also seek to communicate this faith to a rapidly changing and hurting world. Our services, ministry and activites then are quite varied. We are a part of the Diocese of Carlisle. As a part of the Diocese we have committed ourselves to the Diocesan vision of “From Survival to Revival”. On this website you will find a lot of information about who we are and what we’re up to, please spend a little time exploring it. Our hope is that all our various activities will all, in increasing measure, support both our parish mission statement and the Diocesan vision. This can only occur if we allow God’s grace to permeate all that we do and affect how we think. I hope you are encouraged by what you find here. Please remember us in your prayers.
