MINISTRY
Luke 6:46-49
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”
The Priory has been a centre for Christian ministry for almost a thousand years. Whereas the form of ministry has changed much through time, the substance must remain the same. The substance of all Christian ministry is grounded upon hearing the words of Jesus, observing his life, and following him. The Priory seeks to be faithful to the words and life of Jesus, and as a result we take seriously the call to minister to our villages in obedience to Christ’s call to us and to the world. The form of our ministry depends upon the individuals and talents in church. We hope that whatever form our various ministries take, they will all substantially point to the hope of our forgiveness and redemption in Christ. As a church, we can only pass on to others what we have been given, and so the various ministries will flow out of genuine worship and openness to the grace and love that God offers us.
